Game Version as of
10/12/07

V2 -
w/ sword stuck and WTF glitches fixed!

V3 -
Invisible enemy after text message screen goes away fixed.
Enemy spawn on top of chest bug fixed.

Differences from the demo:

Some spellbooks were moved around a bit- you'll now have acess to more useful spells earlier
on than in the demo. This will allow a bit more options for our anti-hero.

NOTE: The breaklock spellbook has been moved a bit further away from the beginning since
it made the game a bit too easy early on. It's replaced with a spell you'll probably
need more at the start anyhow.

V4 -
Fixed it so arrows and wizard's spells can't hurt you while the subscreen is up.

Alchemy spell now kills the Demon Cat like it should have.

The necro can swing his sword slightly faster than before.

Spells can't go through any cactus now, and bat form can't fly over them either.

Added a skip option for the main story cutscenes.

Lots of Dark Power rewards have had their costs dramatically lowered.

Demon Ring description was altered slightly.

Treasures can't be picked up by swinging the sword at them sometimes.

STORY:

A great war was waged between the forces of good and evil. Many on both sides were lost, but
in the end good won as they always do. The leader of evil, the foul necromancer, was killed
by his own blade and put to rest in a forest tomb with his magic spellbooks..

Years pass, and the tomb was raided time and again. Every spellbook except one was stolen,
the tome of "Command Bone", a resurrection spell. One night a thief broke into the tomb and
tried to steal this book. Disaster struck somehow and now the necromancer has returned to
life!!

Weakened in body and lacking an army, now you must guide the necromancer through the kingdom's
six areas to seek out your magical spellbooks and regain your power. Also be on the lookout
for your mighty death horn. With this instrument you can recall your undead army to take on
the King's men in the final battle!

DARK POWER:

Dark power is the total amount of mass evil you've done during each playing of Necropolis
Rising. Whether you play it for 10 minutes or all the way through, you have chances to gain
dark power points each time by completing in-game tasks. Dark power is the ONLY thing that
carries over from game to game, as each new game starts you from the beginning and there are
no continues.

DARK POWER REWARDS:

The best thing about a high dark power total, however, are the rewards you'll get. For those
who are dilligent and try to burn every last house or collect every magic spellbook, you'll
be thrilled to see your efforts are not in vain! Dark power rewards can be items, money, or
even new spells! Each time you start a new game, the computer will check your dark power
total and give you some nice starting rewards right off the bat. There are some things you
can only get through the dark power and rewards system.

* * *

AREAS OF THE KINGDOM:

NECROPLIS = The infamous land of the dead, this forested region is littered with gravestones.
DRY SANDS = A burning hot desert. The strong sun may hurt you after awhile in it.
DEAD SWAMP = The dangerous swamplands are home to many tougher enemies.
KING'S FOREST = Walled-in to protect it, the lush forest is patrolled by the King's men.
UNDERGROUND = Deadly underground areas sealed off from the outside world by locked gates.
KING'S CASTLE = The fortress of the King himself. Be on guard while in here!

* * *

ITEMS:

Sword = Your steel sword. It's very basic, but necessary since your magic power is limited.
Bile = A "sweet" juice made from squishing swamp zombies. It refills your life.
Magic Elixir = A tonic that can restore your magic power.
Castle Key = This golden key can unlock the King's castle's main gate.
Underworld Key = A dark key that can lead you to the kingdom's two underground areas.
Death Horn = The necromancer's unholy instrument to summon forth his undead army.
Demon Ring = Wearing this ring will make nearby enemies extremely (and permanently) weak.

Coin = This is worth $1.
Chalice = This is worth $5.
Gold Bag = A lot of money, $10 to be precise.
Green Bag = These are usually hidden or inside treasure chests. They're worth $50!

Magical runes are rare, but finding one and attaching it to your sword will give you bonus
